Millions of Americans are bracing for a wave of stagnant weather this week with the potential for soaring temperatures and severe storms across the country.

It's going to be another hot and sunny day for Thursday with highs reaching into the low 90s.

Highs will be climbing into the upper 80s to near 90° Wednesday through the weekend. Humidity levels will increase, which could lead to a few storms next week.

An ozone action day is in effect for North Texas on Thursday due to the high heat and humidity in the area.

Residents could experience nickel-sized hail measuring at about 0.88 of an inch, and wind gusts up to 75 mph, the agency warns.
