As far as machine ab exercises go, a lot of them tend to be shortened focused, meaning the hardest part is when your spine is already bent. Also if you're shorter, machine ab crunches generally don't have a super wide range of motion Which is why in my opinion it makes a lot of sense to also incorporate cable ab crunches with your torso horizontal to your body. On the dip machine, setup determines the muscle you’re targeting. Keeping the elbows tucked close to the body with an upright torso will target the triceps, mainly the medial and lateral head.
