This circuit shows a 4-bit binary counter driving a 7-segment display to generate a continuous hexadecimal sequence from 0 to F and then repeat. The four waveforms at the top represent the outputs of the counter: Q0, Q1, Q2, and Q3. Each bit toggles at half the frequency of the previous one, creating a binary count pattern. As the counter increments, the four output bits form values from 0000 to 1111, corresponding to decimal 0–15 or hex 0–F. These outputs feed a BCD or hex-to-7-segment decoder,
