When I’m working on fronting and I’m trying to help a child say ‘k’ or ‘g’ at the beginning of words, they revert to ‘t’ or ‘d’ a lot. I’ve found that moving the final ‘k’ or ‘g’ to an intervocalic position and then fading the initial vowel can be an easier/faster way to get an accurate velar in initial position. (Side note: we’ll keep working on making the ‘k’ less harsh/glottal sounding) #speechsounddisorders #childhoodapraxiaofspeech #pediatricspeech #slpeeps #slplife #slp #slp2be #speechpath
